ENOUGH
©2001 Green Huse

Y2K came one year and one half late
It wasn't the chips and the wires, but the blood and bones of those betrayed
Now we're at war with an unknown enemy
Declared on anyone who questions our authority

Sometimes I'm ashamed to be American
The land where we think we are free
I won't forget those killed by the sanctions of my country

Genocide Genocide Is that what it's called when food and water are denied?
Genocide Genocide Is that what it's called when a million children have died?
Genocide Genocide How many more deaths will they try to justify?

I'm still grieving for the ones that we have lost
For the friends and families of those New Yorkers gone
I also grieve for the innocence killed in Afghanistan
For the decades of suffering they've been forced to withstand

Sometimes I'm ashamed to be American
The land where we think we are free
I won't forget those killed by the bombs of my country

War crime War crime Is that what it's called when their hands were tied?
War time War time Will we be silent when we know somebody's lying?
Genocide Genocide Hasn't our grief been multiplied enough?

This doesn't heal my sore heart
This doesn't mend my broken heart
This doesn't rebuild our shattered hearts!
